“I’ve been trying to cure it for forty years, and have only succeeded in controlling it. I am angry nearly every day of my life, Jo, but I have learned not to show it, and I still hope to learn not to feel it, though it may take me another forty years to do so.”
(Little women by Louisa May Alcott)

In modern society people tend to divide emotions into good and bad. Feeling and, oh my god, showing «bad» emotions such as anger, sadness, sorrow etc. is not welcome. To get accepted by the society you should always smile and radiate happiness. It doesn’t matter how much effort you put into hiding your sadness and pretending to be a happy person, it doesn’t matter that it exhausts you to your very core, you just have to, because the world belongs to happy people.
I`m totally against the ongoing situation. I strongly believe that there are no «good» or «bad» emotions.

«Conceal, don’t feel, don’t let them know» doesn’t seem to work. If you don’t express yourself, the emotions stay inside until you can`t hold them anymore, and then you just explode, just like Elsa did.

Isn`t it healthier to let yourself feel what you feel and let the world know about it? You can spend too much energy on hiding your anger. So much, that you will have no energy left at all. There`s nothing heroic in hiding it, but it is brave to admit that you feel it, to let yourself feel it and to find a healthy way to express it without hurting anyone, especially yourself. It`s a very hard thing to do, because for generations «bad emotions» were tabooed and people tried hard to hide it and to fit in. Now it`s time to finally let the world know true you: sad, happy, smiling, crying, desperate and full of energy. It is time to show yourself and meet others.
