Hi! Today I’m here to tell you about my Spanish classes with my native-speaking friend from Mexico. Once upon a December when I was scrolling the news feed in Spanish I suddenly realized that I have only a passing acquaintance with the language I’ve been studying actively for almost 3 years. The sad thing is that I used to love Spanish very much when I studied at school, I even attended some courses. Now the question is: where did all the love go? Am I majoring in English and Spanish teaching, or is it only English? When I was thinking about what might have gone wrong, I remembered that I was in Korea when the Spanish classes started. They took place at 3 pm in Nizhny, which means it was 9 pm in Seoul. I think I might have used it as an excuse when I came back from Korea, but now it sounds pathetic. Spanish classes even were in the list of my electives in Seoul, but they were to no avail, although we had a native speaker as a teacher. I felt so devastated that I’ve already lost so much time that I decided to take action NOW (before I fail Spanish lol). Now I devote an hour a day to Spanish (not much but still better than nothing). I talk to my Mexican friend once in two days and study vocabulary and grammar. I really hope I will improve my Spanish at least a little bit during the winter break.
